Creeper Trail |
Damascus, Virginia |
"The Virginia Creeper Trail stretches 35 miles from Abingdon,
Virginia thru Damascus, Virginia to the NC State Line near Whitetop, Virginia.
The Virginia Creeper Trail is open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback
riding. The former rail bed passes through the back country of Southwest Virginia.
The Virginia Creeper Trail is rich in beauty and regional history. This is
a biking adventure that you and your friends will talk about for a long time."
The VA-CT mountain bike trail is one of the most scenic trails in America.
My buddy Matt said it correctly when he called the Creeper Trail, "The
Blue Ridge Parkway for bicyclists." It was a very peaceful, enjoyable
ride. The trail also runs parallel with some of the most beautiful trout streams
in eastern United States. The below pictures were taken on the Whitetop to
Damascus 17 mile section. Also below are pictures of the town of Abingdon,
Virginia.
